Mehrangarh Fort is the most magnificent in the Rajasthan for its Historical and traditional
Architecture. It is one of the largest forts among all the forts in India. It is situated on a 150 meter high hill. Mahrangarh fort was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha and 5 km far from Jodhpur city. Other attractions of Mehrangarh Fort, includes several palaces inside the fort, with their sprawling and huge courtyards. In this fort, The Moti Mahal or the Pearl Palace has the royal throne of Jodhpur. The fort also has galleries, temples, etc.

To the left of the Mehrangarh Fort is the Chhatri of a soldier, Kirat Singh Soda. It is the spot where he fell while defending the fort against the armies of Amber. Jodhpur Coat of Arms is kept in the Phool Mahal. Walls of this Palace are covered with paintings depicting various musical moods. The Main Villas displays Rathore armory and the 'Tent room'. This tent room is an imperial Mughal campaign tent, used by Shahjahan but wrested by Jaswant Singh from Aurangzeb in a battle. Made of red velvet and embroidered with golden thread, it gives some idea of the grandeur, which the Mughal approached even their battles.
